Today, Consumer Affairs Victoria honoured the winners of the Consumer Stuff competition. Six of us from Geelong High School including ours truly, travelled up to the NMIT (Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE) in Melbourne to receive prizes and certificates. Though none of us were ranked in the top three, each of us did get "High Commendation" prizes with a $25 dollar gift voucher. Though this is considerebly less than the first/seccond/third place winners (the first place VELS entry; which was a "Who wants to be a Millionaire" interactive "Mobile Phone quiz") received a total of $1000), it was still great to be recognized by the Consumer Affairs Victoria Minister; Tony Robinson, the Coinsumer Stuff competition judges and organizers and the CEO of NMIT; Brian MacDonald for our work that we have done over the last few months. | Image: The GHS prize winners with Victorian MP; Tony Robinson, at the Consumer Stuff awards ceremony. Have you ever felt that when you are looking for a phone or internet deal, you feel that you are not getting all that much "bang for your buck"? Well this site is made to help you out in regard to this and help you find the best deal, for the best price and compare them to other major plans in Australia. Of course, international visitors to this site may find some of the information on this website helpful, but the information on this site is aimed towards teens and young people who live within Australia. Topics that are covered: Some of the topics that we have information on include: Internet (Click to go to "Internet" index)
Mobile Phones and Scams (Click to go to "Mobile Phones" index)
But wait, why are you doing this?We are doing this because we want you, the consumer, to know exactly what you are getting for your money. And we plan to un-cover all the facts about many types of internet and phone plans to make sure you do not get ripped off, as well as a lot of other stuff related to internet and mobile phones. Note: when the word "we" is used it of course refers to "us" which of course "our" names being "Matt" and "Michael"
